Terms of Service

Last updated: 2 November 2026

Your account, credits and payments, the content and the pictures, and what we are and are not liable for.

1. What you are agreeing to

Learning Ability ("the Platform") is a library of branching adventures and lessons across several subjects, with practice papers, city language courses, a sketch studio and freeform stories. Illustrations and some narration are generated in your own browser rather than on our servers.

By using the Platform you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with either, do not use the Platform.

2. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for your own learning. That covers playing any story, sitting a practice paper, keeping your progress, drawing in the sketch studio, and buying credits to unlock art styles or credit-priced stories.

You may not:

  • scrape or republish the question library, with or without the citations;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or extract the source, except where the law says such a restriction is void;
  • sell, rent or share access, credits or an account;
  • upload material you have no right to use, or anything unlawful;
  • call the credit ledger or payment endpoints directly instead of using the pages provided.

3. Accounts

An account needs a name, an email address and a password. Sign-in waits until you confirm the address, so the same address is what gets you back in after a lost password or a receipt.

You are responsible for keeping the password to yourself and for anything done under the account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has it. You change your own details on the account page, and your illustration style in preferences.

We can suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms, commits fraud or abuse, or breaks the service for others.

4. Credits, prices and payment

Credits are the internal unit of the Platform. They unlock a premium illustration style at the price shown in preferences, and any story published with a credit price. Credit bundles are sold in rand, and the price on screen at checkout is the price you pay.

Payments are taken by iKhokha on their own hosted pages. We never see or store your card details. A purchase stays pending until iKhokha confirms it to us, and the credits arrive with that confirmation.

Coupon codes are one use per learner and can be withdrawn. The referral programme pays 10 credits when someone signs up through your link and 25% of the credits they later buy; we can change its rate or close it with notice.

5. Refunds

There is no refund button. Write to the support address from the address on the account and we reverse the credits and confirm to you by email. iKhokha gives us no refund call, so the money itself follows the timeline your bank and iKhokha work to, and the reversal on our side is what we control.

Credits already spent on an unlocked style or a story cannot be handed back for that reason alone; the licence you bought with them is the thing you paid for.

6. The content and the pictures

Each entry names the source it was written from, and the road traffic entries come from the National Road Traffic Act 93 of 1996 and the National Road Traffic Regulations, 2000. The text, questions and citations are ours.

Scene illustrations are generated in your browser with SDXS-512-DreamShaper, a Stable Diffusion model made available under the CreativeML Open RAIL++-M licence. That licence travels with any image you download or share, and its restrictions apply to you as the person redistributing the picture. The footer of every page carries the attribution.

Your sketches and the turns of a freeform story are yours. They stay in your browser while you work; saving them to an account puts them on our hosting so you can pick them up on another device, and you can ask us to delete them.

7. This is not an examination and not advice

The Platform practises. No test it prepares you for is set, administered or marked here: the learner’s licence test belongs to the licensing authority, and its questions are not published. A good score here proves nothing official.

Nothing here is legal advice, and generated narration and illustrations can be wrong. Where the site states a rule, the citation is the authority — not the picture next to it.

8. Changes to the service and to these Terms

Features arrive and leave. We may update these Terms; the date at the top of the page is the version in force, and a material change comes to you by email or an in-app notice. Using the Platform afterwards means you accept the new Terms.

9. Disclaimer

The Platform is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that any defect will be corrected.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Learning Ability is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of the Platform, including loss of data, progress or credits.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing limits a right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or the Promotion of Equality and Prevention of Unfair Discrimination Act.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
